Our literacy goal for the next three years is to utilize evidence-based assessment for academic planning to ensure that all students have the skills needed for literacy success. Staff across Catholic Independent Schools of Nelson Diocese will participate in literacy training, implement screening assessments, and establish intervention programs to monitor all student progress and refine instruction. We will strive to foster partnerships with parents to support literacy development at home and provide parents with resources, strategies, and ongoing communication to actively engage parents in their child’s literacy journey. CISND will develop proficient literacy learners who possess the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm to effectively utilize language for comprehending, creating, and expressing ideas in their daily lives.
