Students standing at a playground with the Trail Smoke Eaters

Mrs. Orr's Garde 1 students and Mrs. McConnachie's Grade Two students were very excited to receive a cheque for $1750 US funds from their Smokies reading buddies.

Once a week, the students practice their reading skills with a Smoke Eater who guides them while sharing a story together. The students look forward to connecting with their big buddies who come to school and watch them learn. Vice versa, the students had an opportunity to watch the Smoke Eaters "learn" hockey at a game on February 9th hosting St. Michael's School. We tried our best to pack the Cominco Arena with as many St. Michael's Saints to cheer on our favorite players. The school to sell the most tickets at game had an opportunity to receive a $5000 donation from the Murphy Family Foundation. Even though we did not sell the most tickets, we received a generous donation to go towards our New Primary Playground Project.

We Thank you, Trail Smoke Eaters and the Murphy Family Foundation!
